Sediment buildup in hard-water tanks
Why it happens here
Oak Hollow water carries minerals that settle at the bottom of the tank. Over time, that layer insulates the burner, causes popping, and shortens tank life. Homes on the original 1990s plumbing see it fastest.
Our approach
We flush the tank, inspect the anode rod, and replace it when it is more than half consumed. On new installs, we set the temperature at 120 degrees and schedule an annual flush to keep sediment down.
